XigmaNAS是一款基于 FreeBSD 的开源 NAS（Network Attached Storage）操作系统，前身是 FreeNAS 0.7 / NAS4Free，是目前最成熟、最稳定的家用与中小企业 NAS 系统之一。它支持 ZFS、软件 RAID、iSCSI、SMB、NFS、AFP、RSYNC 等几乎所有主流协议，并提供完整的 WebGUI，无需命令行即可管理整个存储服务器。核心特性包括：ZFS、RAID、iSCSI、SMB、WebGUI、插件扩展、高性能网络协议栈等。其最初名为 FreeNAS（0.7 系），后因商标问题改名 NAS4Free，2018 年获得注册名称后改为 XigmaNAS。它提供一系列等企业级功能，同时保持轻量、易用、开源、可在任何硬件上运行。
XigmaNAS支持跨越多种操作系统的共享，包括Windows、Apple、类UNIX系统。NAS4Free在多数家庭及企业环境中都易于安装，并且能在网络上方便地管理和共享海量数据；还集成了很多不同的流特性，以与网络上的其他设备共享多媒体数据。其定位于：家用 NAS / 中小企业存储 / 备份服务器。它包含ZFS v28（RAIDZ、RAIDZ2、RAIDZ3），软RAID（0、1、5），磁盘加密，S.M.A.R.T或邮件报告，并支持以下的多种协议：CIFS（samba）、FTP、NFS、TFTP、AFP、RSYNC、Unison、iSCSI（发起者及目标）、HAST、CARP、Bridge、UPnP、BitTorrent。所有功能都可通过网页界面来高度定制。
XigmaNAS supports sharing across Windows, Apple, and UNIX-like systems. It includes ZFS v5000 , Software RAID (0,1,5), disk encryption, S.M.A.R.T / email reports etc. with the following protocols: CIFS/SMB (Samba), Active Directory Domain Controller (Samba), FTP, NFS, TFTP, AFP, RSYNC, Unison, iSCSI (initiator and target), HAST, CARP, Bridge, UPnP, and Bittorent which is all highly configurable by its WEB interface. XigmaNAS can be installed on Compact Flash/USB-key/SSD Drive, Hard disk or booted from a LiveCD/LiveUSB with a small usb-key/floppy drive for it’s configuration storage.
