Parted Magic是一张容量不大的Live CD，你不仅可以通过光盘来使用它，而且也能够在优盘中应用。是一份自启动运行CD/USB/PXE发行，其主要目的在于给硬盘分区，为硬盘完成分区工作。它预装的分区工具包括GParted和Parted，其中GParted是一个图形化的分区工具，很容易使用，称之为分区魔术师最为合适。在Parted Magic中除了一些分区工具之外，还包括了 partimage、testdisk、dd、ddrescue 等工具，可用于备份或还原系统，基至急救出现故障的系统。
尽管GParted和Parted是其主要应用软件，该CD/USB发 行也提供其他应用程序，包括Partition Image、TestDisk、fdisk、sfdisk、dd、ddrescue等等。
当前，Parted Magic 支持广泛的文件系统，如 ext2、ext3、ext4、fat16、fat32、hfs、hfs+、jfs、linux-swap、ntfs、ocfs2、reiserfs、 reiser4、xfs、zfs 等等。无论是 Linux，还是 Windows，都有 Parted Magic 的用武之地。
Parted Magic 基于 GParted LiveCD 项目，并在此基础上做了一定的工作。
About Parted Magic
The Parted Magic OS employs core programs of GParted and Parted to handle partitioning tasks with ease, while featuring other useful programs (e.g. Clonezilla, Partimage, TestDisk, Truecrypt, G4L, SuperGrubDisk, ddrescue, etc...) and an excellent set of documentation to benefit the user. An extensive collection of file system tools are also included, as Parted Magic supports the following: ext2, ext3, ext4, fat16, fat32, hfs, hfs+, jfs, linux-swap, ntfs, reiserfs, reiser4, and xfs.
Parted Magic requires at least a i586 processor and 256MB of RAM to operate or 128MB in "Live" mode.
